Unfortunately Halloween fell on a Sunday night this year so I did not end up wearing a crazy costume to work as I typically would. In fact this was the first year in a long time that I didn't put together a costume and without any parties to attend had no reason to! Luckily my Halloween was brightened by Carter who was the Very Hungry Caterpillar for Halloween...he was super cute and Sherry said he'd only keep his hat on if he was holding a lollipop! I "stole" the picture of him reading the Very Hungry Caterpillar book off of Sherry's blog Sunday, October 31, 2010

Our 1st Visit to the 24hour Emergency Vet.
It was Friday night (10-29-10) after one of the loooonngggeeessst weeks I'd had in a while and it was around 11:00 at night. I was going through the standard nighttime routine of taking the girls outside to pee just before we go to bed but it was crazy windy and the girls were distracted to do their business. So I figured if we kicked the ball around a few times they would quit paying attention to the blowing trees, run around the yard a bit and then pee so we could go to bed.
could out run it or if her depth perception was skewed by the dim lighting but she dipped her head to get the ball and her eye collided with the stucco covered pillar. At first I figured it was just her shoulder but she came off yelping and I hurried her into the house into the kitchen where I had enough light to check her out and I was horrified! Her whole eye socket was filled with blood and she was bleeding from multiple other spots around the eye. I instantly feared the worst--I worried that she'd
hit the corner of the pillar and blinded herself! I started blotting off all the blood, grabbed leashes and got both girls into the car on my way to the Emergency vet...which is across town! Mom was able to meet me there after dispatching for the football games and helped with Ginger while I quickly filled out the paperwork for Baylie to see the Doctor. The vet said he'd need to clean up the wound before determining the need for stitches and said he'd do a special eye wash to
check and see if she scratched her cornea. Luckily, when he brought her back in the room he said her eye seemed to be fine, she had reactive pupils, directional movement, and he saw no scratches! The vet said that he really couldn't put stitches in her gash without it pulling down her bottom eyelid so it would just have to heal in itself. He prescribed some antibiotics to help fight infection and told me to keep it clean. He said it'd probably take a couple weeks to fully heal and
she will most likely have a scar where the hair won't grow back but I was just relieved to hear that she was going to be alright (especially her sight)! I took the pictures after we got home around 1:30 in the morning and both girls were exhausted so it was strait to bed after that! The next morning Baylie's eye was gooey but once I took a moist rag to it I was happy to see it looking less swollen. Baylie was lethargic all day Saturday Saturday, October 23, 2010

Leann Lopez's (Former Student) Baby Shower...
After home schooling Leann for nearly 3 years she graduated and then invited me to her baby shower. It was jungle themed and decorated really cute. I gotta say this was the first all Hispanic baby shower I'd ever been to and it was the loooongest event EVER! I figured 2-3 hours, but after the 3rd hour they had barley gotten to games and presents...cutting the cake wasn't even in sight yet! I was very honored to have been invited but I deceded to leave after presents (before cake) because I just couldn't handle any more!
| The gift I made for Leann...diaper cake and wipee cases. |

A Monkey Pruned Mom's Palms...No Wait, that's WAYNE!
Wayne was able to get his hands on some climbing gear and tree spikes and he spent the morning up in the tops of Mom's Palm trees. He worked to cut out all the seed pods that make a horrible mess in the pool and a few weepy limbs too. He made the climb look pretty easy but the tricky part was to get the pods to fall "gracefully". Each of them were 4-5 feet in length and must've weighed somewhere between 20-50 pounds each so they dropped like torpedoes! Luckily we were successful...no people or property were harmed and the trees looked great! Saturday, September 18, 2010
Babysitting Carter...
I Haven't been posting regularly lately...work has been busy but these were cute. I was babysitting Carter sometime in September (honestly, I forget the day) and wanted to share a
couple pictures. It was just before bedtime when we were watching Ice Age and he just looked so cute in my big bean bag so I snapped a couple of pictures. Then at Grama's house on a day she was babysitting she asked me Friday, August 27, 2010

Babysitting Carter...(My Nephew)
So...before Leah and her family moved to Evansville Indiana they had a big yard sale to get rid of some stuff so they'd have less to pack. Leah called me before the craziness started and set aside a couple of things she
thought I could use for my nephew Carter. Leah had a car seat for me and this cute teddy bear rocking chair that Carter really likes! The first time Carter was able to squeeze the bear's arm to make it make noise he was so excited-
-hence the surprise face!

Babysitting the "Cousins"...Dogs that is!
for the Saturday evening and Sunday morning feeding times but it was long enough to have some good playtime with the "cousins". As usual I always bring my camera, partially to keep myself entertained and also in hopes of catching that great picture! Here are some of the fun ones I shot...Enjoy!
Bug...(AKA: "Joon Bug") was a very daring kitty...she was outside the whole time the dogs were.
I turned off the electric fence because
my girls don't understand the concept and tend to get shocked over and over. It didn't take Blue and Liberty very long to realize the wire no longer
delivered punishment and quickly developed the desire to dig! I had to watch them closely...and remember to plug everything back in when I left!
