A Walk On The Bike Path...Along with some Squirrel Hunting!!!

We went for a walk today on the bike path today and there is this one sunken area surrounded by trees and a TON of squirrel holes!!!  Ginger especially LOVES to chase, hunt, and check every hole...it's bad enough that I let her off leash for a short minute while she sprints from hole to hole sticking her head as far down as possible!  One of these days I figure she'll get her nose bit off but so far so good and thank goodness she's never caught one...I don't need a dog to catch the plague or something from one of them!!!

My Backyard Moat...

It has been raining and raining and raining...and now my backyard has a moat of it's own!!!  However, in my house a little water has never stopped playtime...I have Labs and they LOVE water!

Girls Night Out...For Me and Linda's Birthdays!!!

The girls from work wanted to take Linda and I out for our birthdays because they fall so close together.  My 33rd birthday fell on the 6th and her 47th birthday fell on the 13th so we decided to do a girls night out on Friday the 10th to split the difference!  We went to a quaint little Cuban/Mediterranean restaurant called Mama Roomba and everything we ordered was FABULOUS!!!  It was a really nice night with good company!

It's my birthday and Mom and I decided to go have dinner (and drinks) at Chili's to celebrate!  Gotta say dinner was good and the company was GREAT!  Thanks Mom.

How Many Blondes Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb???

Pretty sure when you go to unscrew a burned out light bulb to replace it with a shiny new one it is not supposed to come out of the socket with out it's base!?!  Now I have the open metal base connected to a live socket and no bulb...hmmm.  I called Mom for ideas and she said she'd heard you could use a potato but I didn't have any.  In the end, with the breaker turned off I was able to unscrew the metal base without getting electrocuted and a new light proudly shines in the socket where this bulb casualty took place!

Hallelujah for traffic lights!?!?!

FINALLY they are putting in some traffic lights at the intersection of Brideveil Falls and Olive Drive!!!  I realize it is a weird thing to jump for joy about but this has been a serious stop-and-go nightmare!  This was just too big of an intersection to only have 4 stop signs so I'm really looking forward to traffic flowing more smoothly in the near future!!!

Grandma Audrey's 80th Birthday!!!

Grandma Audrey's 80th birthday was on January 14th, 2012 and a party was thrown for her at Uncle Steve's house.  I was unable to attend so Sherry took a bunch of photos and I "stole" these off of her blog.

A Lazy Sun Filled Sunday!!!

After mowing the grass Saturday I put fertilizer and pre-emergent down hoping to ward off the weeds as the Bermuda comes out of dormancy with its spring growth.  The problem is, that I don't really like the girls to lay or play on it until it's watered in really well, considering it IS a form of poison!  When the sun poked through on a January day they couldn't help but want to go sun-bathe on the grass!  So, I put out towels and blankets to serve as a "protective" barrier between them and the poisoned ground and as you can see, they didn't mind the pampered treatment!!!

Christmas Basket!

Not knowing what to bring as a gift for Dad & Lena...I decided to go with a medely of things in a basket.  I found a cute "red drum" basket and filled it with a bottle of red wine (a yummy Pinot Noir--Red Bicyclette), some Hickory Farms Summer Sausage and aged cheddar cheese, crackers, and some gourmet apple butter.  I actually bought a bunch of apple butter jars from one of my co-workers who makes it from scratch!  I gave them as gifts to Mom, both Grandmas and kept one for myself...because it was really GOOD!!!
