Baby Shower @ Highland for Beth Prevost!
Beth was pregnant with her first baby and was planning to be a stay-at-home mom once baby Grace came thus she wouldn't be back for the 2010-2011 school year. I headed up the event and collected money from the whole SPED department so that I could get all the food and decorations along with a heafty Target gift card to help her buy whatever baby items she needed. The turnout was great and even Beth's mother was able to come to the party! We did a good job keeping the shower a secret because Beth was shocked and we brought her to tears (happy ones)!!!

Daughtry, Lifehouse & Cavo Concert @ Rabobank!

On Tuesday May 4th I had tickets to the Chris Daughtry concert opened by
Cavo and Lifehouse at the Rabobank arena. I actually bought the tickets
back in January because I didn't want to miss it! The concert was great
but I actually have to say Lifehouse was just as good as Daughtry
himself I only wish they played a few more of their older songs. The
seats were in the upper deck but they were straight on with the stage so
I felt like we could see everything really well!!!Sunday, April 25, 2010

Ginger vs. My House...Ginger wins AGAIN!

Spring has sprung!
Over Spring Break I had BIG plans to use my time to put my yards back in check! Now that Ginger has gotten over the majority of her destructive puppy behaviors I finally took down all of the chicken wire and steaks that surrounded all of my trees in the backyard. I also planted a bunch of flowers in the front yard in attempt to "keep up with the Jones's." Although the flowers were pretty for the first couple weeks, I'm not continuing that practice because they just require sooo much maintenance and I like a well kept yard that practically handles itself. So enjoy the view...because it may never happen again! :)

Pinks and Browns--Monkeying Around!!!
So my newest diaper cake was made as a request from my friend Kim. She was in charge of throwing a shower for a friend of hers who's expecting a little girl. I always try to create a theme so that the cake "flows" from top to bottom. It takes a bit of work to get ribbons, ruffles and cake toppers
to match when I don't control what the stores carry. This particular cake gave me trouble because I've done pink and brown cakes before and I wanted this one to be different. After a trip to Beverly's, Jo-Ann's, and Michaels' I finally came up with my palate and theme: Monkeying Around. Enjoy the Pics.

Baylie's Final Clearance: No More Restrictions!!!
We finally made it! We are about 6 months out from Baylie's devastating knee surgery after blowing out her right ACL back in October. Baylie has had a long recovery and rehabilitation
process that was facilitated by friends and family. Our First appointment at VCA-All Care was October 10th, 2009 and our last was this past Sunday March 28th, 2010. My only fear going into this 6 month check-up was to be told that her over compensating for her bad knee all this time had worn down her good one. Luckily the orthopedic surgeon said that everything felt great and her range of motion was back to normal and the x-rays confirmed everything!!! Baylie has officially had all restrictions lifted and now we only need to go back down south once a year for annual x-rays to be sure
everything stays perfect! The weather was great and the traffic was minimal for this recent trip...it actually felt like the weight was finally lifted off my shoulders and I can worry a little less and pay off her surgical bills with my tax return and put all of this behind us!!!
